Chemical Peels

Exfoliation is a fundamental skin process that removes the top layers of dead, dry skin cells to expose newer, younger skin underneath. Chemical peels are a wonderful option for exfoliation that can be customized to your individual needs. Chemical peels remain to be a top choice for patients looking for safety, reliable results and the ability to modify the depth of the exfoliation to the amount of correction they need.

Peels use a chemical solution in a controlled manner to loosen the outermost layers of skin. The chosen peel solution is applied to the skin and left on for a set amount of time before it is removed or neutralized. Some peels allow you to see a brighter complexion immediately, while others require several days of peeling and/or flaking before your new skin is revealed.

Chemical Peel Benefits

Depending on the depth of the peel selected, your treatment can address the following concerns:

  • Fine lines
  • Pigmentation irregularities
  • Acne scarring
  • Acne
  • Rough skin texture
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Signs of sun damage

Our Aesthetician will take the time to assess your skin before treatment to determine whether a chemical peel might meet your needs and desired results. With a diversity of peel options to choose from, we will also be able to tailor your procedure to your skin type, tone and concerns.

Options for Chemical Peels

Chemical peels come in three basic categories; superficial, medium, and deep. We offer superficial and medium peels in our office, as deep peels require anesthesia. Our diversity of peels allows us to address a broad range of patient needs.

Superficial Peels

Also known as light or lunchtime peels, these chemical solutions usually contain active ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid. The primary purpose of a superficial peel is to rejuvenate the skin and restore a healthy, hydrated glow. The treatment may also minimize the appearance of minor skin blemishes. These treatments are mild enough to repeat regularly, which is recommended to extend your results.

Hydraradiance Peel $80

Smoothes, hydrates and brightens, improving the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation. With a larger molecular size, Lactic Acid is a preferred option for dry and sensitive skin. Added antioxidants help repair damage and strengthen skin.

Beta Clarity Peel $90

Deeply cleanses pores with antiseptic properties. Treats oily, congested, and acne prone skin. Helps rejuvenate, smooth and balance the complexion.

GlyPro Resurfacing Peel $90

Repairs and regenerates the skin. A versatile and fast acting acid exfoliant appropriate for most skin types, effectively aids oily, problematic skin. Improves the appearance of facial lines, uneven tone and texture.

Medium Peels

Medium peels work slightly deeper into the layers of the skin to create a revived appearance that is more noticeable and long-lasting. Typical active ingredients in medium peels include trichloroacetic acid (TCA), glycolic acid (in higher concentrations than a superficial peel), and Jessner’s solution. These procedures can involve some flaking and/or peeling. You will want to avoid sun exposure and excessive sweating for a few days after you receive your peel.

GlyPro Power Peel+ $120

Effectively rejuvenates damaged skin by stimulating fresher, healthy cell growth. Improves the appearance of aging and photodamaged skin as well as acne. Helps smooth texture, soften fine lines, and even skin tone.

Triple Transformation Peel $120

This Modified Jessner formula delivers a synergy of effective acids designed to create transformation, reducing the appearance of melasma, freckles and acne.

AB Clinical Renewal Peel $175

This physician strength formula combines Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids to refine skins surface texture and reduce the appearance of uneven tone while clearing blemishes.

TCA Clinical Reveal Peel $175

This physician strength formula combines TCA with other exfoliating agents to improve the appearance of aging skin, smooth fine lines and enhance skin tone. Added probiotics and antioxidants support skin and encourage repair.

Treatment Basics

We perform all chemical peels in our office and the amount of time scheduled will differ based on the type and depth of peel we select. 30-45 minutes will be scheduled for your initial peel to include time for skin analysis and choosing the right peel for your skin. Once the skin is cleansed and prepped, the peel solution will be applied and left on for a set amount of time. At that point, the peel is neutralized if needed and removed. Additional products may be applied to your skin after the peel to calm and protect.

We will help you decide the best chemical peel for you based on your skin type, concerns and desired results. To learn more about these procedures, or schedule an appointment, contact our office today at 239.390.DERM(3376).
