What to Expect During a Dermaplaning Procedure
Your treatment will be performed on-site at our state-of-the-art medical practice. Most dermaplaning treatments take 30 minutes or less.
During a dermaplaning treatment, patients may experience a tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate the procedure with ease. However, a topical numbing solution can be applied at the start of your appointment to ensure your comfort.
Dermaplaning involves exfoliation with the use of a sterile surgical blade. The blade is guided across the surface of the skin to remove scar tissue, dead cells, vellus hair, and debris.
A new, fresh layer of skin is revealed after dermaplaning. A soothing serum will be applied to the area at the end of your treatment, followed by sunscreen.
What to Expect After Dermaplaning
There is no recovery period associated with dermaplaning, but you must be diligent about protecting the skin from exposure to sunlight in the weeks after your procedure. The newly exposed skin cells are easily damaged by the sun, so it is important to always wear sunscreen when going outside.
Dermaplaning Results
